It's not the first time we've been asked here at The Whisky Club about the spelling our Club name, and we're sure it won't be the last. So here to uncover why there's no 'e' in our name. 

The good news is, if you've been stuck in an argument with a mate about whether it's whisky or whiskey, the correct is answer is: both! Seriously. Whisky and whiskey are both perfectly correct in the right context. Let's unravel why...

Just as there are many different wine making regions recognised around the world, Scotland has five whiskymaking regions, each with its own style. Let's take a look at the differences between the Highlands, Lowlands, Speyside, Campbeltown, and Islay regions.

We love a good single cask here at the Club. But what exactly is a single cask? And what are the different types of single casks? First up, let’s cover what a single malt is before we get to the ins and outs of single casks. 

Normandy is one of the most popular regions in France, known for its rich history and sweeping coastlines. It’s also known for its cider — there’s close to 20,000 acres of apple orchards spotted all over the region. Magnifique. Cider from these apples, and sometimes Perry (pear cider), then goes on to become one of France’s most iconic spirits. 

Ghost distilleries is the term given to a distillery that has ceased production, but still has some of its stock available — the spirit of the distillery remains… until they run out of stock, of course.
