Double Ups, Two-Bottle Memberships, Add Ins, and your Delivery Box, explained!

Here's a quick rundown of everything you need to know about how the Club works when Whisky Weekend rolls around.

Whisky Weekend

Whisky Weekend is an important (and exciting) time for Club Members.

From the first Friday of the month – when the monthly whiskies go live at 12.01am – until midnight that Sunday, you get to decide what awesome Add Ins you want, and can also choose to request a Double Up or upgrade your Membership. Read on to see how it all works, plus how to manage your Delivery Box, which is pretty unique to the Club.  

How Double Ups work

If you're after an extra bottle (or four) of the Whisky of the Month, you can Double Up, but it's important to know how we allocate bottles.

You can make a Double Up request from the first Friday of the month (when the monthly whiskies go live at midnight) until midnight that Sunday. We call this period Whisky Weekend.

To put in your Double Up request, just log into your account and hit the Double Up button. The switch will turn green and your number of requested bottles will be shown in your Delivery Box above.

If you’re on a One-Bottle Membership, your order will be increased to two bottles with a successful Double Up. If you're on a Two-Bottle Membership, a Double Up puts you down for four bottles. You can request even more bottles by using the Need More button, too.

Please note that Double Ups only affect the Whisky of the Month, and aren’t guaranteed – bottles are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If you want to guarantee your second bottle every month, you’ll need a Two-Bottle Membership.

Two-Bottle Memberships

These do what it says on the tin. Instead of one bottle of the Whisky of the Month, you’re guaranteed to get two – one for your glass, and one for the shelf.

Two-Bottle Memberships are at the top of the list when Whiskies of the Month are being allocated. The order goes:

  1. Two-Bottle Memberships
  2. One-Bottle Memberships
  3. Double Up requests
  4. Any additional bottle requests

Add Ins

As well as the Whisky of the Month, we always offer monthly Add Ins – rare, interesting and delicious optional extras, and can be requested alongside, or instead of, your Whisky of the Month.

As with Whiskies of the Month, Add Ins are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, and numbers are generally much more limited, so if you like the look of one, hit the Add In button in your account quickly!

Your Delivery Box

Your Delivery Box is where the action happens. Every Whisky Weekend, your Whisky (or Whiskies) of the Month will automatically be added to your Delivery Box at the start of the weekend. You’ve then got all weekend to put in a Double Up request, and to choose your Add Ins for the month.

At the end of Whisky Weekend, your account will be charged and your bottles will be dispatched as soon as your delivery has been processed.

If you’re ever picking up a bottle outside of Whisky Weekend, your Delivery Box works the same way: just add whatever bottles you’d like from your My Account screen, and you’ll see the bottles appear in your Delivery Box. Once you’re happy with quantities, you can sit back and relax – your whisky is secured, your preferred payment method will be charged at 11:30pm that night, and your bottles will be dispatched as soon as your delivery has been processed.
